WSQ Style of Hair Design

Course Objective
This advanced basic course, Style of Hair Design, is crafted for salon professionals, hairstylists, make-up artists, and stage designers who have prior industry experience and foundational knowledge in hair and make-up. Learners will enhance their styling competencies by exploring the effects of various tools on hair structure, setting up professional workstations, and executing structured procedures to create expressive and production-ready hair designs. Emphasis is placed on the styling process within theatrical contexts, including creating period hairstyles, managing wigs and prototypes, and ensuring hairpieces meet both artistic and safety standards for performers.

The course equips learners with applied technical skills and creative styling techniques that align with industry demands in theatre, fashion, entertainment, and media production. Graduates will be able to translate styling concepts into real-world stage-ready designs, opening pathways to roles such as senior stylists, hair designers for stage and film, or style consultants for live productions. By mastering the use of wigs, hairpieces, and salon procedures in performance settings, learners not only strengthen their artistic identity but also unlock upskilling and job progression opportunities in specialized styling and creative direction roles.

Learning Unit 4: Wig Handling, Application, and Fit Testing
Learning Unit 5: Recognising Styling Issues and Supporting

Administration and Language Requirement
Minimum PSLE level
Able to read and write, listen and speak English to a proficiency level to WPL level 3 or WPN level 3

Progression
Once candidates have achieved the WSQ Style of hair design, they may progress on to higher level of WSQ or equivalent courses. This award qualifies graduate to operate their own freelance practice. Graduate can also gain employment in related industry

10. All fees paid are not transferable.
11. All non-tuition fees paid are non-refundable.
12. An official receipt will be given on receipt of payment.
13. A late payment charge of S$12 per month will be charged for overdue payments of more than two weeks.
14. The school reserves the right as its discretion to terminate the student from the course for overdue fees.
